I’m Raul Ciurescu, an Embedded Systems & Hardware engineer and Computer and Information Technology student at Politehnica University of Timișoara. I work across the full stack of embedded development: from schematics and PCB bring-up to low-level firmware in C/C++ on STM32 and ESP32, and integration with tools like Home Assistant for real-world automation.
I’ve been involved in academic R&D at DSPLabs, contributed to industrial projects at companies such as BlueSys (and later nJoy), and built independent projects from scratch – including long-range IoT platforms, security-focused hardware and agricultural monitoring systems. I enjoy taking ideas from “rough concept” to something that can be tested, measured and trusted in the field.
In the last years I’ve also moved strongly towards working with people: mentoring students, coordinating small teams and helping define simple, effective processes for projects and labs. I’m curious about new technologies (including quantum computing) and I like building systems that solve real problems, not just look good in a demo.
